POSITION SUMMARY:
In this role, you are responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all electrical installations and maintenance within the organization. This role includes signing permits, performing and supervising electrical work, and ensuring that all installations meet safety standards.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Permit Management: Sign all electrical permits to confirm that installations adhere to minimum safety standards and that proper safety procedures are implemented
- Supervision: Oversee licensed electricians and apprentices, ensuring that only qualified personnel perform electrical work
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with corrective notices issued by inspecting authorities and that all necessary permits and labels are obtained and displayed
- Project Planning: Design, plan, and lay out electrical projects, including modifications to existing systems
- Installation Oversight: Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including emergency power systems
- Preventative Maintenance: Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Inspection Duties: Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety regulations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance, ensuring safe and efficient work practices
- Exceptional organizational abilities, adept at managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines without compromising quality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Skilled in reading, interpreting, and analyzing blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for accurate electrical installations and troubleshooting
- Proficient in utilizing work order management software and Microsoft Office Suite to streamline operations, maintain records, and enhance productivity
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Minimum of 8,000 hours of experience as a journeyman electrician or equivalent supervisory experience
- Licensing: Must hold a valid General Supervising Electrician License
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May require working in various environments, including construction sites and existing facilities
- Must be available during working hours to supervise ongoing projects
